5.0 out of 5 stars Nostalgic, fun, sharable build
I usually am not interested in BrickHeadz-style figures, but I had to make an exception for Lucy and Ethel from the famous "Job Switching" episode. I just watched the original scene again, and it still makes me laugh. The design does a fair job representing the characters, so the conveyor belt and chocolates easily drive it home. It's a little odd that the candy wrappers have been replaced with newspapers, but representing paper in brick form is tricky and even if they are a bit off the mark, it's nice that they're prints. If I can come up with something better, bonus newspapers for a cafe. The box is nicely printed and the instruction booklet is excellent. It includes a QR code on the inside cover to download pdf instructions if you prefer to use a digital format or to archive a copy. Piece quality is pretty typical of BuildingBoat sets - good but not super great. Some connections were a little bit stubborn and colors vary subtly. Everything is entirely buildable and nothing is unusually difficult. The bags of pieces are numbered clearly. I was surprised to discover you actually only need to open one bag at a time while building this set - they go in sequence within the two parts of the build. Between that feature and the availability of pdf instructions, this set is a perfect choice for shared building with friends and family. The one thing I would add or change in the design would be to give Lucy's arm a little more room to hold her hat-sack. They simply set it on the floor, but I think it really ought to be in her hand. It fits in the clip, but pushes the arm away from the body. The pieces hold tightly enough that I can do that and it doesn't detach unless I jostle it too much, so that's good.Overall, this is a great set.
5.0 out of 5 stars Obsessed
I really do Love Lucy, so when I seen this I had to have it!!!This is one of the best episodes and it is really so perfect. It just makes you smile and giggle a little every time you look at it. It was easy to assemble and is larger than I had expected. Now I just need them to have a Vitameatavegamin set. I would die if that happened, that is my all time favorite episode LOL.This is just great and I cant wait to see if there are more out there. I love looking at it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Gotta have it
I'm a huge fan, so how could I NOT get this? I was worried it would be a pain to assemble, but it wasn't bad at all. The finished product is adorable and it is a must-have for Lucy fans. They should make more Lucy sets (hint hint)!
5.0 out of 5 stars Love Lucy Building Blocks - Lucy's Chocolate Factory Romantic Movie Scene Building Block
I got this for my 11 yr old and she had it put together in less than a day. The directions were clear enough and all the pieces were there. She said it was easy to do and she loves the finished product. You can definitely tell what scene this is depicting, as she even recognized it the minute I showed it to her. This would be a cute gift for any I Love Lucy fans or children that like building block sets, even if they are beginners, but it does have small parts so supervision would be needed for younger children. We are happy with this product.
4.0 out of 5 stars Fun and fairly simple
Cute building set! I'm not an experienced builder but I was able to make sense of the set without TOO much trouble. I was able to put it together in about 2 hours over a few days. The only criticism I have is that the Lucy figure is a bit top heavy and keeps falling over. So I have to set it on the platform super carefully and not bump it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Chocolate Factory Scene!!!
I LOVE this show sooo much, and this scene is one of my favorites. Putting this together is so much fun and it looks really cute when displayed. The instructions are great, I had no issues putting this together. I Love it!! I would love to see more versions of these- I would order it in a heartbeat!!
5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome gifts for fans of I Love Lucy and/or Lego
Grabbed this as a gift for my retired Mom who is a huge Lucy fan! She has never built a Lego or similar set, but she loved it! She could stop talking about how cute it was!The build for this is very similar to other Brickheads and the execution is great! Lucy and Ethel are adorable and if you know Lucy, this recreates the classic candy line episode!Happy this gift went over so well! The designed nailed it on this one
5.0 out of 5 stars What a concept!
I had to get this just based on the concept. Who would've thought that a scene from I Love Lucy would translate into a "Lego" set? I asked the 11 year old son of a friend of mine if he'd build it for me, because he likes these things. He had no clue what it all represented, but he did enjoy building it nonetheless. When I asked him how the build went, he told me it was easy enough to follow the directions, and everything fit together well. Looking at the finished product, it looks great, and it's a fun little thing to have on the shelf.
