5.0 out of 5 stars OMG!! TOO FUN FOR 'KIDS' OF ALL AGES!!
No one may believe this, but I purchased these for a team building/office event, along with some hammers. Using the bags that came with it (someone recommend socks) to crack them open, EVERYONE is having a FUN day! ALL ADULTS AT WORK!! Yes, they are all white, but no one cared, it is just the idea. I am so happy I found these here and for this great price. Inexpensive fun!! UPDATE--shared some of the leftovers with Colleagues that had kids and they LOVED these!! They are actually a super fun idea!
5.0 out of 5 stars Hours of fun for my 3 year old!!
My son absolutely LOVED these! It was such a fun experience for him. We were outside for hours smashing them open & collecting the pieces. “this one’s gorgeous mom!!”It was a great educational opportunity too-learning about geodes. Such a good purchase.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good value
Really fun
3.0 out of 5 stars Good Grief...
Pros:-You get a stunning selection.-Price is okay.Cons:-VERY difficult to break these open.-Damaged my driveway.-A hammer isn't enough.Final thoughts:I know this is aimed at kids, but my wife even had a difficult time getting these broke open. My son didn't stand a chance. (I was too busy writing Vine reviews at the time.) And they both were quite disappointed. Once they got them open, they found them to be beautiful in the right lighting (and they really are), but getting there was a chore. It wasn't fun at all.I'm not sure the effort is worth the end result, honestly. I'm giving it the stars I am because you get so many of them and they are gorgeous, but wow.
4.0 out of 5 stars Best price here for clear ones.
My son's girlfriend gave him one of these and when my 10yo daughter saw it she immediately asked if I could buy some. She loves sparkles and wanted to decorate her room with a bunch of pieces. I found this set of 25, and they are the best price I found. As shown in my 1st photo, most of them are pretty small. There are only 1 or 2 i would consider "large" and that's only in comparison to the rest of them. The majority are small, and are genuinely small! I haven't cracked a small one yet but I'm afraid I won't get any good pieces from them. Will update after I do. I cracked a large one and a medium sized one to get the pieces shown in my other photos. The 3 plastic display stands are just cheap little things, but they definitely help of you want to show off any pieces. The only pieces you can use on those will come from the largest rocks. Even the medium rock pieces were too small for the stands. The instructions tell you to either use a hammer, or to place in a sock and hit it on a hard surface. I couldn't crack it with a hammer at first at all. I put them inside an old sock (important because it WILL destroy the sock!) and then hit it with the hammer while inside the sock. That finally worked. It also keeps the tiny pieces from flying all over, and keeps all the pieces together so they are easier to pick up. The rocks themselves are ugly on the outside, but the crystals are the part that matters. Lol. The crystals are all clear on these. They are naturally formed in different sizes inside, so there are some areas with teeny tiny crystals that look a bit like crackle glass, and some areas with larger crystals. This is a fun project to do with children! My daughter is going to have many beautiful, sparkly crystals to decorate with! And it's cool to get to open the sock and see what you get with different rocks. I recommend this with parental supervision and help! Safety first!
5.0 out of 5 stars This set rocks!!
Our family loves collecting rocks and so this set was a hit! Pun intended! If you're looking for a fun family activity this is it!! You get 25 rocks to open so there are a lot for each child and allows for (error) them to not crack as your child might desire! :) You also get 3 display stands which is great because once you do this activity the rocks are so pretty you'll want to display them! There are 2 methods to open: throw on concrete or hammer open. We hammered them open and got a more precise opening. My kid build things all of the time and got some chisel tip screw drivers and got an even more precision opening!Overall this was one of the best activities from teen to toddler we've done in a while and at a great price too!
5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Geode Kit for All Ages!
I recently got the Break & Discover Geodes Kit, and I have to say, it was a fun experience! While it's marketed for kids, I decided to give it a try myself, and I loved it. The kit comes with a gorgeous white Moroccan geode that you can break open, which adds an element of excitement to the whole process. The instructions are straightforward, and cracking open the geode was such a rewarding moment. Seeing the beautiful crystals inside was absolutely worth it! It’s a great way to learn about geology while having a little hands-on fun, no matter your age.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great for any age
This set is awesome. I got it for my 12 year old who loves rocks, crystals and geodes. There were a variety of sizes, when opened they were beautiful and he had a lot of fun doing it. I definitely recommend for any age (with supervision for younger kids)
Eeeh honestly , it’s mediocre
The price was great but definitely not like the opened up geode in the photos , I’d say this may look grand for a child’s small hands but as an adult I laughed at the size , difference between small to large was down to millimeters and even there very minimal that the large looked like mediums and the small looked like cherry tomatoes! I’ve seen large geodes elsewhere and this product compares their version of large to a flattened golf ball, with the growing displeasure of breaking them open to discover a crumble of brilliance hence their size , if I’m lucky that is , save your money and buy a bigger ones , like Jumbo ! , so far I’ve opened up 10 and they’re just rocks , mother natures way of saying , HAHA GOT YOU GOOD !
