5.0 out of 5 stars Great fun, I wish I had a city commute!!!
I order this scooter for recreational use rather than a commuter. I could absolutely see how this would make a big city commute or college life easier.First, there is really very little assembly required. The handle bars have 4 screws to put together. The handle bar mast swings up, snaps in and it's as simple as a button push to get it ready to run.The throttle is easy to use with a thumb and there is a single brake level that controls both. It also has a headlight and a tail light that blinks when braking. These are controlled on/off with the same single power buttonI was really impressed with the speed once I got moving. I was only able to get it up to 17mph on the digital speedometer, even going downhill slightly with me at about 190lbs. But that's plenty fast!I have not reached battery life limitations yet. I rode it around my block a couple times and still had well over 90% battery life. The ride is a little jumpy due to the airless tires, trading a soft ride for never flat.It has a simple folding process, there is a lever to release that allows the handle bars to tilt back and lock onto the rear wheel. It can then be carried with the now horizontal bar.The app is clumsy but functional. I always worry about spyware when much of the description on the play store is in Chinese, so I limited the permissions when I installed, and I'm not sure I'll leave it installed. That said, it allows you to change and customize performance characteristics of the motor, limiting speed or changing startup torque or kickstart settings. This is by far the most advanced scooter I've ever had, leaving the old 24v razor scooters in the dust. It's a lot of fun, and I'm sure it would be very functional as a commuter at a great price!
4.0 out of 5 stars Fun and quick little scooter
I have only ever ridden a rental scooter you pick up all over cities a couple times before so I was slightly terrified of this. I absolutely love it! I did not go up to the top speed of 19 miles per hour but I did go to 17 before I chickened out. My partner got it up to 19 miles per hour but my dad who is 6’7” and a bigger guy could only get it to 15mph, his feet also don’t fit on it properly. So if you wear a size 15 you will have a hard time getting both of your feet on the deck but it isn’t impossible. I like the idea of it having an app but it also isn’t necessary and the app needs work before I’ll actually use it. I like that it has separate modes that you can switch between. I’m definitely more of a comfort mode kind of girl and when my nephews come to visit for Thanksgiving I’ll probably set it to Eco mode so they don’t accidentally throw themselves off the scooter. The 3 modes make it perfect for everyone to have a good time. I think it rode better on the road than the sidewalk due to it not having any suspension so you feel the sidewalk cracks a lot more. We also bought a bike lock for when we run quick errands around the house with it.Overall breakdown of pros and cons:Pros:3 modes of speedEasy to fold and un foldSuper quietSeems to hold a good chargeBell is definitely loud enough for people to hear itLED displayHead lightClamp to keep it securely foldedCons:Bad/ no suspensionNo way to tell how many miles you’ve ridden unless you use the appApp that needs work to be usefulI would absolutely buy this again, I think for the price it is a really solid scooter choice. I do hope they improve the app.
5.0 out of 5 stars A really great scooter!
This scooter is super fun and very solid construction! It has a very smooth ride and is quite fast..It claims to reach up to 19mph, but I have only seen that briefly after a full charge. I weight about 175lbs and it seems to top out at about 16mph on the flats after riding it for a short bit. I have yet to get the battery to run all the way down, but seems to last a while. It has a nice app that ties into the scooter via bluetooth. Only minor complains are the brakes seem to not stop it very well, but then again I'm not sure you want them to stop you instantly in that you'll go flying forward, but I feel like maybe they could still work a little better than they do. Also, the way that the latch on the handle bar is mounted that is used to latch onto a ridge on the rear fender for when you fold it, I wish they had thought a bit more about it's positioning. If they had moved it closer to the center of the handle bar, when the shaft is folded down it would not feel crooked when latched. It has a really nice headlight. Has 3 speed settings, but I just have always used the S setting which I believe is the fastest. Again, really solid scooter, especially at this price point. Highly recommend!
