I’m no barista for sure, but I enjoy an espresso or cappuccino so I jumped at the chance to try this.It’s a basic machine especially in the plastic body but the other parts seem robust and decent quality (from what I can tell.) There’s a starter guide card you’ll want to follow first and great helpful further instructions and tips inside a pamphlet. There’s also a 2 year limited warranty page as well.I happened to have a milk frothing pitcher already so I’m glad for that. One is not included so that’s something you may want to consider having although I’m guessing a coffee cup would do ok enough or small glass measuring cup with a spout even better.I’ve made a couple cappuccinos and a double shot espresso so far and all were yummy. (The espresso was hot so be careful.) I may just get caffeine drunk practicing latte art one day hahaAll in all this is a nice entry level machine and does the trick for a newbie like me. You’ll want to have espresso sized mugs as the clearance under the brewer was too short to fit my standard sized coffee mugs. Thankfully I have some so I was ready to start brewing straight away. There’s a whole art to making cappuccino, lattes and espresso that involves many facets such as coffee ground coarseness, weight of grounds, packing etc that I really have no clue about but I was still able to make enjoyable hot drinks with this and I’m sure over time I’ll get even better. It’s going to be fun having this and I recommend as a more level entry option.

If you're looking for a very nice, very affordable cappuccino maker, this is going to be the one you want. It works great and it's a respectable brand name, Black+Decker. You can happily get your cappuccino fix every day without having to pay an arm and a leg from Starbucks. Of course, you have to make it yourself, so that's the downside of having this machine rather than going out and buying it for someone else to make for you, but I think for the amount of savings you'll get that you'll accept having to make your own cappuccino every day.

BLACK+DECKER Semi-Automatic 15 Bar Espresso and Cappuccino Maker is a good quality countertop appliance. This model has the option to use either coffee grounds or ESE (Easy Serve Espresso) pods. The advantage of the pods is clean up is much simpler.The B&D unit is reasonably compact, so you don't have to give up a lot of space (approximately 12 inch wide and 12 inch deep).This is a standard machine that serves either espresso, latte, americano, or cappuccino. I would rate it as commercial grade, but it is not a professional level machine.It holds 1.5 L of water (6 cups).A "15 Bar" extraction pressure is very good - any number over 11 bars of pressure is ideal to pass through the coffee grounds for a strong espresso.The steam wand functions well. It's not very long so you need to limit the amount of milk for frothing.You can choose between a single shot or double shot of espresso into one cup, or double shot split into two separate cups.The machine heats up within 1-2 minutes. It is easy to operate - especially by using their Quick Start Guide. The full manual offers really good insights including how to make espresso hotter, warming the cup on the elevated plate, and how best to clean & descale the machine. Care and maintenance is essential for optimal performance and longevity of use.I've made two espressos and a latte. Thus far, the machine is operating fine - good results and fairly easy to break down and clean.Black & Decker includes a limited two year warranty and the manual has a valuable troubleshooting list to help solve basic problems.Overall, this espresso machine performs well and allows you to make a variety of coffee drinks with use of the frothing (steam wand). I'm very pleased with the performance. Although the features are fairly standard and it is not a professional grade machine, this compact appliance offers both quality and value for the price.

I have two fancy espresso makers so I was curious about this Black + Decker espresso machine. it looked so easy to use and sometimes you just want easy. I love how you can read through the instructions so easily. I HATE reading instructions and this one has pictures! Very easy to figure out!It is truly so easy and uncomplicated. You can put the grounds in the porta filter and press down using the tamper. I was impressed how nicely the water went through, and the pressure seemed just right.I got a nice draw the first time I used it, ,with the crema on top. It had a very nice taste, not sour at all.You can steam the milk, or just use water. The only thing it doesn't do is ground the beans and that can be an advantage. The oil from the beans can slowly clog it and this way you have your machine just for the espresso.It holds a nice amount, 1.5 Liters. Clean up is easy. It offers a double and single filter.Honestly, it you are wanting an espresso machine that is easy to learn, using pictures in the instructions, no less, this machine is for you. Easy peasy! And delicious espresso!!I do recommend this espresso maker!

Lights all blink all of the time. Even after letting it warm up for 5-7 minutes. Milk steamer is really not good and shoots out water even after hot. Always have to warm my lattes up on the microwave after.
