Wool Bed Blanket: $69.99 at the time of reviewAs I write this review, we're rounding into fall pretty quickly. I live in the Pacific Northwest so around here it can get cold and rainy. Wow I wouldn't recommend taking a wool blanket out in the rain, they are definitely an excellent way to fight off the cold indoors. So naturally, when I saw a big beautiful looking wool blanket from a Pacific Northwest Company (out of Vancouver Washington), I jumped on it.*What I liked*:I ordered the king size version of this blanket because I have found that it is always good to have a little extra room. That end, this big blanket does a great job of covering up multiple people (or a large bed). Thanks to its wall construction, it feels a little bit thinner than your average blanket, but it actually warms better. This is great, because it doesn't feel like it's weighing you down. It's also easy to add to a bed with other blankets if you need multiple blankets to stay warm thanks to its light construction.I opted for the charcoal version of this blanket and the color is a beautiful dark gray. The last thing I'll mention here is the price. The cost of a good king size wool blanket can easily go over $100. This blanket is $70 at the time of review which I think is very reasonable.*What I didn't like*:Nothing!*The Bottom Line:*My wife and I are both very pleased with this blanket. In fact, unless we're sitting together, it might be a point of contention as we fight over who gets to cuddle up under it this winter. Thankfully, we usually sit together! This is a home run in my opinion and an easy five stars out of five for a fellow Pacific Northwest company. I would definitely order this blanket over again.

I live in Wisconsin, so winter can be brutal. There's nothing better on those long cold winter days than being snuggled up under the blankets. I wanted something that was warm but without being overly heavy. I did have a fleece blanket on my bed, and it's definitely warm, but it's slides around a lot and polyester isn't exactly what I'd consider breathable. This wool blanket is definitely heavy when folded up and feels like the tank of blankets. It's soft, but not plush like fleece blankets are, but it's also breathable so you're less likely to overheat. It's the perfect compromise: warm, breathable, and weighty without being too heavy. I think it's going to stay in place a lot better than its fleece predecessor, and my cats have already claimed it as their own.Out of the package, it's only got a slight smell, but that should dissipate quickly with a day of letting it air out. It's labeled as 90% wool and 10% "synthetic" but no indication of what synthetic fabrics were used. In addition to being a layer on your bed, this blanket would be equally at home on the sofa, on the porch swing, camping, or at the stadium. It's durable and well-constructed and would easily hold up to those environments. Wool is naturally fire resistant and also resistant to dust mites, so it's great for people with allergies or people who just don't want to share their bed with dust mites. This is a great blanket that's built to last, will provide warmth and comfort all winter long, and will last forever with proper care, which is as easy as dry cleaning. I love it, my cats love it, and we're officially ready for winter. Bring on the snow!

Ok, you can use this blanket lots of places, but it's going to feel most at home in a cozy/snuggly place: bed, couch, rocker on the porch.I got the queen size blanket to be a topper on my standard king size bed. It's basically perfect, just drops over three edges without touching the floor. It's usually warm here, so we won't have lots of days to use it and being able to leave a leg out let's us pretend like we use cold weather stuff without sweating to death. The material is smooth and well formed. I believe that it's triple washed, but mine still shed a fine layer of fuzz onto my white duvet when I laid it out to inspect. So, I can't say that it's ready out of the box. It's useable, but you'll probably want to make sure it's done shedding before you put it on your bed. There is alot to like here. It feels very appropriate to call it the Lake Tahoe because it belongs in a nice mountain cabin. I remember the AirBnb my family stayed at in Mammoth had Pendleton blankets that were built like this.Really cool blanket, er... warm.

Charcoal is darker than it appears in the photo. I'd call it black. Wool blend is not scratchy but it is a little stiff. It may soften up a bit with use?? Slightly restrictive washing instructions - front load washer, wool detergent, line dry. Not terrible but guess who has a top load washer! I'm using it strictly indoors so I can't say how warm it is.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great wool blanket

This is a quality wool blanket. It's a blend of 90/10 of wool and synthetic. It's recycled wool and what they call hypoallergenic synthetic fibers. Unlike many wool blankets, this is a high wool blend which does give it a bit of a rough and itchy feel which I personally do not mind. Wool blankets are famously itchy so it shouldn't be a surprise, anyway. They should be heavy and warm which this one achieves on both counts. There was no smell which seems to be a thing with some wool blankets. At king size, this will work out very nicely as a layer on my bed and just in time for winter. If you need some extra blanket for camping, this would work great for that and it certainly would provide ample room for two people.Because of the synthetic fibers in the blanket, that does allow you to machine wash but it's probably not recommended if you can help it. This will certainly last longer if you do not machine wash.Overall, it's a beautiful looking wool blanket. It's thick, heavy and definitely keeps you warm. I'm very happy with it and would highly recommend to others in search of a nice affordable wool blanket.
