I like everything about this lamp. It comes with good instructions and could hardly be easier to assemble. The top pops on the base; attach the power supply and plug it in. You can get the Lepro App via a scannable QR code or go to the Play Store; the app is outstanding. I did not explore either Google or Alexa connection abilities; I did explore its wi-fi connectivity, mobile phone connectivity, and the microphone in its base. The light is adjustable for brightness and just about every other parameter conceivable. The App is very powerful, but it is also easy to use. The videos on the product's Bolo.com web page cover everything from assembly to showing how the light works and looks; posting one would be redundant. I highly suggest watching ALL of the videos.Two hours seemed to fly by like minutes while I explored its capabilities; it was that engaging! It would make a fantastic Christmas present for young and old alike; at 63 years old, I am not exactly a kid anymore, and I just love it. I do, however, suggest also getting one for yourself. It is sturdy and is very stable. It looks good when not turned on and bursts to life at the push of a button. Perfect for parties or displaying calming lights after a stressful day, I will likely never tire of watching and playing with it. At its price point, it is an excellent value; I highly recommend this superb product.{AFTERTHOUGHTS; AFTER READING SOME OF THE OTHER REVIEWS OF THE PRODUCT}After reading some of the other reviews, I had a few ideas. As its power supply is a 5V, 3A wall-wart, it can take up two plugs spaced; if plugging into a wall outlet, it will only take up one spot if installed in the bottom outlet or a power supply that has a regular plug and inline converter could be used. It also works well with a 5V, 3A capable charging battery and a USB C-to-barrel adapter. The lamp also remembers the last setting after it has been turned off, so if set to use the microphone in its base (or any setting it was on, for that matter), the app doesn't need to be accessed; just push the button on the base. I do not intend to counter the other reviews; I merely suggest possible solutions for the issues mentioned.
3.0 out of 5 stars Fun but kinda limited
This light has some appealing qualities. It has very nice colors and I like that I can adjust the rings around to whatever suits my mood at the time. It's a bit tricky to put together as you really have to apply a good amount of force to get the 4 pronged tab at the bottom of the rings to snap into the base. The base has some good weight to it but if someone bumps into the light it's going over as it's top heavy. The AI feature is interesting. I gave it several things to see what it would do and really all it does is match whatever you give it as a 'feeling' with preprogrammed modes. So it's not really an AI to be honest. It doesn't think for itself. It takes a certain parameter and matches it. If you're an old programmer like I am you'll remember the line of "if so and so = so and so then go to so and so." That's all this AI feature does. It will never evolve. The music mode has several different patterns to choose from and they're neat. However I don't like that I can't adjust the microphone sensitivity. It's an all or nothing deal whether I'm playing slow jazz or metal. The light reacts the same no matter what. There really needs to be some adjustability there. The preprogrammed modes also need some work. There's no speed adjustment. Again it's an all or nothing kind of deal and that makes the light very distracting rather than being a nice part of your decor that adds to things. Instead of adding it overpowers. You can't even adjust the brightness in those modes. The solid color settings are where the light does it's best representation of things. You can adjust the color millions of ways and you can adjust the brigthness. The white light setting is nice as well. This brings me to my last critique on this smart light....the standalone app. Why make something Alexa compatible and not use one of the major apps like smart life, tuya or even surplife? I don't care for having to download yet another app that has such limited functionality. I have other types of lights like these that come in at a much lower price and are far more adjustable than this Lepro light. The light itself is very visually appealing and is a very nice size. The app is what's holding it back in my opinion. I think with the limited and rather crippled features this Lepro light is very overpriced. I was thinking about ordering another one so I'd have a balanced display on both side of my gaming area but after receiving this one that won't be happening because of the app.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice desktop distraction - many lighting options to choose from and very fun to watch
This is a good quality product that exceeded my expectations. It came very well packed and assembled in under 3 minutes. I think I spent the majority of the time setting up the app, building an account, etc... Just another app for my phone to get lost in the haystack.The app itself provides a boatload of color and chase combinations to try, and the audio sensitivity of the built-in microphone was far better than I expected. The one feature of the app that made my eyes roll was the so-called "AI" that programs the light based on a spoken phrase, like "I'm happy" or "I'm suicidal", etc... It seemed completely random, and I couldn't make a connection to anything remotely "AI". I think it's just the phrase of the year, so everyone's going to find a way to sneak something "AI-ish" into their product.Anyway, the pictures tell the rest of my story. Yes, I recommend this product - lots of fun to play with.
