There's nothing like Otterbox protection. When I got my new iPhone 16 Pro Max, the first thing I ordered was this OtterBox case. I slapped on a screen protector and popped on the case. It was super quick and easy to install, offers perfect access to all of the buttons and MagSafe works like a charm. If you've ever had an Otterbox case in the past, you know they offer top of the line protection. This one is no different. It feel very confident when I have my phone out and about that even if I drop it, it's going to be fine. And, possibly more importantly, it looks great!

It's a nice quality case that will protect your phone from drops, the color/design options are basic-- not exciting, just sort of neutral. The case feels nice, and the parts that cover the buttons don't interfere with their use. It's comfortable. A little pricey for how uninspiring the aesthetic is, but a solid no-frills case that still protects your phone which is the most important thing.

This case has no grip and doesn’t stay in your hand. It is slippery as all get out. It’s crap!!!

The Commuter series is usually my favorite from OtterBox with just the right amount of protection. However this year with the Symmetry series featuring the Soft Touch design I actually prefer it to the Commuter. It is lighter and slimmer which is a plus on a large phone like the Pro Max. However it is the softer case materials that give it more of a rubber feel vs. hard plastic that makes it so good. The soft touch also allows you to hold and grip it better as it is less smooth and slippery. I also like the looks of it with the slightly transparent back with fluted ribs look. I have been testing this case and I think it will be the one to stay on my phone the most. If you do need a more protective case for your work or use environment then the Commuter series does feature a USB port cover on it. And of course for maxium protection the Defender series is the way to go. But with more protection comes more weight and size. 5 stars for the "soft touch" Symmertry series.

Great case overall. Material has a good feel, it's going to protect the phone very well with edges to protect it from hitting the screen or cameras if it drops flat. I like the corners with spots for lanyard. No misgivings about the case doing its job and doing it well.My only gripe with the case is the buttons are a bit stiff. You get used to it though.One thing I am not a fan of with this and many other cases for this generation is the cutout for the camera button. I get why, but some other cases have managed to handle it without that. It feels odd and makes me think I'm holding it upside down when I just grab the phone.

The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is price. As much as I love the OtterBox quality and want to protect my new iPhone, sixty dollars is a lot to me. Other than that, this case has a nice feel in the hand, and I like thelight ribbing on the back that makes it easier to hold. MagSafe works well. I haven't yet received the new pro max and will report back if the fit isn't perfect or any other issues arise. One nice thing about geting the case first: the pro max is larger than my current phone so this gives me a good way to test out the size in my hand. I can actually fit my current phone and its case inside the new case and then see what it's like to operate the touch screen if not the side buttons.
1.0 out of 5 stars Overpriced and Poorly Designed OtterBox Case
I expected much more from OtterBox, especially considering this case costs almost $60. While it’s designed to be protective and bulky, the camera control cut-off is just too big and really messes with the phone's symmetry. It makes the phone feel off-balance and looks awkward. The cut-out is deep, making it uncomfortable to use the camera controls, and frankly, it looks quite ugly. I would’ve preferred a flap or actual button on top, like other cases I’ve seen.Another big issue is that the lanyard corner openings expose the phone's body, which defeats the purpose of protection, in my opinion. When I go on hikes, I worry about dust and small debris getting through these openings and scratching my phone. For a case claiming military-grade protection, this design flaw is a big disappointment. You can easily find better cases for less, and I’d suggest looking for one with better coverage and button protection.

The color is brighter in person and more transparent. It protects in all of the crucial spots though. and can charge wirelessly with MagSafe without having to remove the case.
