This was a good book and it arrived on time.
A Great Concept
I find this book to be an interesting introduction to biblical principles and it is a good idea for a book. The story on tithing does not take into account the context – quoting Malachi 3:10 without looking at the verses that went before. It gives the idea that tithing is for the church when really the tithe is also for other groups such as widows, orphans, strangers… The reference to Acts 2 is not about tithing or giving 10% to the church, but rather to offering and sharing – emphasizing generosity.While the material is literally true, statements such as “first honor God with your wealth” is misleading if not expounded on. You give to God by loving and giving to the poor, disenfranchised etc, not by giving to “the church”. While I like the concept of this book I really think there are areas that could be better presented.
