THESE PEPPERS WERE A BIT HOTTER THAN EXPECTED BUT AWESOME. FOOD CAN BE CUT TO ACCOMODATE THE FLAVOR OF THE PEPPERS AND ENJOY THE FLAVOR WITHOUT DISCOMFORT. BUT, TEST THEM IN A FLAVOR SETTING BEFORE APPLYING WHAT YOU THINK IT SHOULD TASTE LIKE. YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID.

I’m surprised it actually tastes really good. There’s a mild spice to it whereas I wish there were a little more though. Other than that it tastes perfect right flavors, sweetness, everything. Also comes in three different ways, whole pepper, cut up, or crushed so you can use on Just about anything.

This is a very nice presentation, with the little bow and everything, and the jars are actually sized pretty generously for small tastings. The mix of sunflower and olive oils, salt and basil as a base for the sweet and faintly-spicy chilies is *absolutely* delicious. It is slightly salty-tasting, in a good way, with a faint Italian herb effect like "pizza" flavor, but with spicy red chilies instead of sweet red tomatoes, and it *TOTALLY* works. The crushed peppers in particular were so rich, oily and flavorful! they made the *PERFECT* paste to spread on sandwiches- it will blow your mind! The crushed peppers were definitely my favorite, but the rings were great too, and the little whole peppers made delightful poppers to add to a snack platter and enjoy by the bite. The flavor profile of this was familiar and yet new, absolutely delicious. These are not merely the same old pickled peppers that just taste like vinegar water which you've had before, they were a delight all their own, and combined with the lovely gift-worthy presentation are 5-star fantastic treat! 100%-recommended!!

I have nothing bad to say about this collection of tasty and simply prepared Calabrian chilies. I've never thought of Italian food as being hot and spicy but these peppers open up some avenues to ramp up the heat in some of my Italian style recipes. They are hot but not the kind of heat that melts your face off. The heat lingers in my mouth but does not overwhelm. I'm more of a medium heat level person and these peppers are in that category. Dressed only in salt, olive oil and vinegar, the fruity and slightly smokey essence of the peppers shines through. Having a collection of crushed, sliced and whole peppers is a boon to my pantry. The products come in a handsome and protective box that would present well as a gift.
