4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but spilled slightly inside

    c. · October 29, 2024

To start, this came in a shrink-wrapped product box. I cut off the shrinkwrap and inside the box the kataifi was in a ziplock, but some had spilled out into the box, which made me worry since it's a food product. I took off a star for that. Besides that, it was a good product. None of the recipes for the viral Dubai chocolate bar had 3.5 oz of kataifi, which initially worried me that I wouldn't have enough. However, after making it, you can see that this box fills a 10 inch pan for toasting. I also think that many of the recipes out there are talking about a fresher product, not something dried into a pasta like this. That might be messing up the proportions. I initially halved the recipe thinking I didn't have enough kataifi, but then it wasn't creamy enough so I ended up having to add more pistachio butter and tahini back. Stirring it was very messy, as little pieces kept jumping out of the pan onto the stove. This product seems to work well and toasted up a lovely brown color with good crispy texture when eaten.

4.0 out of 5 stars Finely chopped kadayif

    J. · October 27, 2024

The kadayif came in perfect condition in a resealable baggie. It is chopped finer than the images appeared, so the range of desserts that can be made with it is more limited. It tastes fresh and like it should (dried phyllo dough). It is easy to use in recipes, though the value is not as high as it could be due to the amount you get.
