5.0 out of 5 stars Gentle, Effective, and Clean: Drunk Elephant Mello Marula Cream Cleanser Review
I'm thrilled to share my experience with the Drunk Elephant Mello Marula Cream Cleanser! As someone who's particular about the products I use on my skin, I was excited to try this gentle, non-stripping cleanser. The size of the tube is generous (150ml), and I appreciate that it will last longer than other cleansers I've used. I've incorporated this cleanser into my nighttime routine, and I've noticed a significant difference in my skin. It's calmer, more balanced, and looks healthier overall.I love that this cleanser is free of essential oils, silicones, and fragrances, making it perfect for sensitive skin. It's also an ultra-gentle, low-lather formula that effectively removes water-resistant makeup, sunscreen, and daily pollution without stripping my skin of its natural oils.As a long-time fan of Drunk Elephant, I trust this brand implicitly. They're known for using clean, harmless ingredients that are gentle on the skin, and this cleanser is no exception. While the price may seem steep, I firmly believe that you get what you pay for. This cleanser is a high-quality, effective product that delivers on its promises. I'm happy to pay a premium for a product that I know will work well and be gentle on my skin.In short, I highly recommend the Drunk Elephant Mello Marula Cream Cleanser to anyone looking for a gentle, effective, and clean cleanser. It's a game-changer for sensitive skin, and I'm so glad I found it!
3.0 out of 5 stars If you have the money to spend...maybe?
Does this product work: yes it does. Is it worth the price? I don't think it is. Let me say that I have normal/dry skin with some hyperpigmentation. I used this product at night (as directed) and the results weren't any different than my other cream based face washes. I know Drunk Elephant is the holy grail for some people and their skin care. The colloidal oatmeal might help those with skin irritation, and the marula is a nice feel. Again, my face felt the same after washing off makeup and my day with this compared to my CeraVe cream based cleanser and my Thayers cleanser. For this fact alone I can't justify spending up to 40.00 on something that a 5-10 bottle works just as well as. So while I will continue to use this, it is not on my favorites list for the price alone. Again, if you have different skin issues it might be different for you, I just can't give it 5 stars where there are other more affordable options that do just as well
5.0 out of 5 stars Smells like cake. Working well for me.
Skin care especially face wash is really different for everyone and it's really just a hit or miss with the hundreds of choices available. This face wash for me worked great for me though. I didn't get dried out with it. It washes off initially with a moisturizing feel it to, but with some more rigorous washing the moisturizer washed off. It left my face feeling soft, and usually some cleansers dry me out. Afterwards I am a little red from scrubbing my face, but it doesn't stay red due to the cleanser. I've been using it for a week and so far so good.Overall it's a roulette game with cleaners but this one seems to be working well for my dry skin.
4.0 out of 5 stars Barely foams - Vanilla oats scent - Gentle
There was no wrapper around the manufacturing b0x but thankfully there was foil seal underneath the lid. It is described as low lather but I didn't really experience that. I tried the cleanser on a dry face and a damp/wet face. I liked it much better on a damp face. It was smooth cream like a lotion with a bit of oil. I was able to massage around my face for a while since it stays slick to maneuver. When I used it on a dry face, the cream dried up in the middle of massaging. It felt like scrubbing with bare fingers against a dry face. I noticed a slight tingle with this cleanser. Not a rare occurrence for my skin, especially since I’m on retinol. No irritation or redness after I rinse though. It took me a little longer to rinse off this cream cleanser compared to my usual Curel foaming cleanser. To be fair, Curel is very lightweight. Mello Marula had this slippery feeling (more noticeable on dry face application) but once I rinsed it off completely, my face felt clean. No stickiness, no residue. My skin wasn’t as moisturized or soft as I expected. I guess I assumed marula oil would be more moisturizing. The cleanser has a light scent of vanilla oats. Sweetish. It was made in the USA with global ingredients. It’s good for 12 months after opening. My eyes might have skimmed over it but I couldn’t find the expiration date.Would I repurchase? No. However, I would still recommend it since I can see this being good for others. There’s really nothing wrong with this cleanser (besides a little expensive). It comes down to personal preference. Scent is tolerable. Formula feels gentle. Rinsing experience was ok and my face felt clean. Cream cleansers in general just aren’t for me it seems, or maybe I just haven’t found my perfect one. I have been trying to get into them the past year since my skin is quite sensitive and dry in areas. It’s supposed to be good for my skin type.
5.0 out of 5 stars Light and clean feeling
I'm a male, and I have been using this Drunk Elephant cleanser as my daily morning and night face wash (though the bottle suggests a once-daily night cleanser). Regardless, there have been no issues with my skin, and the cream itself is light and moisturizing, with just the lightest bit of a coconut/oatmeal scent. The application is not foamy, but just a little bit covers my face well. Ease of rinsing probably depends on how soft or hard your water is (mine's is particularly soft, so the cream is moisturizing, but takes a bit of time to fully wipe off). So far, I've been liking the results though, which is basically a simple and clean feeling.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works great on my sensitive skin
This is a nice cleanse for my sensitive skin. It does not over dry and leaves my face feeling fresh and clean. It has a very faint scent which i find appealing, and lathers up just right. I may have found my new favorite face cleanser!
