While reading through this anthology, I sat down and wrote a review for each story and each review has spoilers. Some spoilers are small, and some are huge, so read at your own risk. The overall anthology was so much fun to read. I can't wait for this to come out on paperback so I can get a physical copy, this is definitely a read, read again, and then read several more times after that! Each story pulled me in and made my day in different ways. Some of these authors I already knew, one of them even being my favorite author ever, and then there are several new-to-me authors that I really enjoyed getting to know, and my TBR has now grown exponentially so I can get to know them better. My favorite new character is the tornado pixie, Fin in Picking You. I want so much more of him, I was laughing so hard and wishing he were real so I could have a friend as chaotic as him!Favorite story was Loren Leigh's. I loved the deeper healing arc that made Theo's journey so much more than just a romance.Favorite Easter egg was Archie talking about how damned lucky Lucky is in Lark Taylor's story.I want more of the demons in Lily Mayne's and Cora Rose's story. And I'm really hoping that Sundae Leighton writes a longer story for hers because her characters were so intense and beautifully broken! I want to immerse myself in their journey of putting all their pieces back together.Picking You by T. AshleighI LOVED Fin. Probably one of my all-time favorite characters. His chaotic energy made me smile and laugh so hard and I really hope he gets a full-time novel so I can smile along with his antics some more.Kenneth's journey was interesting to read because he was trying to figure himself out, which at his age is perfectly normal. So many books have young adults having a firm grasp on their feelings which isn't usually the case. The author made Kenneth real for me because he was figuring himself out. He didn't really know what he felt and wasn't even sure if he had a crush, which by the end of the story it felt like it was more of an admiration/almost slight envy of his friend being so boisterous and easy to make friends where Kenneth was a bit more shy and reserved.I really enjoyed reading his journey and how Fin came along and just tornadoed him into a deeper level of understanding himself. I really hope the author writes more for these two because I really enjoyed the dynamic of Kenneth's thoughtful-processing mindset counter-balancing Fin's chaotic energy and it would be so much fun to read more of how they even each other out! (And sidenote: If they do get their own story, I really hope Kenneth's attraction to Fin's lingerie is a thing because I loved his reaction in this!)Cherry Ice by Addison BeckThis needed a good ending and thankfully it definitely had that. My poor heart broke for Mav so many times throughout this, but when Levi finally got on board, it was worth it. Out of the two of them, I felt I saw Mav grow the most. Levi was kind of just stuck on the football king and didn't realize where his heart was until the end. But Mav went from being completely uninterested in the beginning to realizing he had feelings for Levi, and then watching his devotion, protectiveness, and a definite dash of possessiveness grow throughout the story was the best part for me.Even though Levi was clueless throughout most of this, I feel as though, now that he knows where his heart lies, he'll make everything up to Mav and show him he's just as desired as Mav desires him. Overall, this was cute, if not a little heartbreaking. I'd love to see an epilogue or special chapter of them being happy and domestic together! The New Guy by Nicole Dykes"I don't belong anywhere without you. I'll just go where you feel like you belong." -Fallon to Finley. Fallon was just so head first, heart first, knowing more than anything else that Finley was where he belonged.Finley and Fallon were adorable! I love how Fallon just followed his emotions. He didn't question it, didn't doubt it, he simply followed to where he knew he belonged. And I love how Finley couldn't resist him despite not knowing where he was going to end up.This was more than just a blurb or a short, their entire story was condensed into this. I loved the chase in the beginning, the jump of time that showed them still going strong, and then the happy ever after at the end. It was short, sweet, and complete. My favorite scene was the dance when Finley finally let go of the last of his qualms and openly danced with Fallon. With how long they had been together and how closely they were watched I think most everyone knew at that point, but I still loved when Finley finally showed they were together in public.Cherry Picking by Becca Jackson"I introduced him to a few of the frat brothers, the straight ones." - Noah. This line cracked me up, he went from introducing Patrick to potential hookups to only introducing him to straight people because he wanted Patrick to himself. My favorite part of this was when the author surprised me by setting up the story for a misunderstanding and instead took a left turn at the last minute, and turned it into a moment of Patrick coming to Noah's rescue.I loved how they were both already checking each other out before the main storyline even started and how Noah was just ready to shut the app down even before he knew if he had a real shot with Patrick. And I love how Patrick brought Noah's brothers back to his games just because it was important to him."I like those odds" - Patrick after tying the cherry stem, his way of saying Noah was the one for him. This was a quick build-up and an insta-love, but the author still made room to show how they made each other better by being together. Definitely gave all the feels. Short, sweet, spicy, and heartfelt!Until We Kiss by Loren LeighSo, this was the one I was looking forward to the most, and I wasn't even a little bit disappointed. This made me cry. When they parted and Theo knew they were both going to get the guy in the end. I cried. It was so beautiful for them to part knowing they would end up back together again. I love how the author was able to articulate Theo's decision to stay and heal was a decision for both himself and for the long-term benefit of his and Carter's relationship.Once again, the author's characters just bounced right off the page. I felt everything in Theo. His confusion, his understanding, his fear, and his brokenness. This went from seeking a lay, to finding just how deep the crater inside of him was and how much of that was being healed by Carter, and how the only way he was ever going to truly heal was if he made the choice to heal himself.Carter's character was amazing. Just this big ball of energy trying to put all of Theo's pieces back together. I love how he just kept surging ahead, hoping, healing, smiling, and constantly pulling Theo out of his head. And then when he just sat back and accepted Theo's decision to heal. There was no selfishness there, only encouragement. And I loved the moment Theo went from realizing he loved Carter, to realizing his love for Carter was the forever endgame kind of love. "And the only thing I can think is: that one. That's the guy I want""I suddenly feel this... possibility. It's seeping everywhere, more than it ever has in my life before." The HEA that isn't only for each other, but also for themselves. They did so well and they got their guys in the end. I loved every word, was so emotionally riveting and pulled in!Tucson Too Late by Sundae LeightonAt the heart of this, I struggled with it because I wanted more. There was so much potential to really just dive into these characters. To flesh them out and dig deep into them. Into their histories, and their angst, and their brokenness. There was just so much lingering beneath the surface. This needs to be a full-length novel, with just more. I need more of them, I want to get to know them to understand them. It felt almost like a summary that was giving cliff notes to a bigger picture. And I'm so ready to fall in love with all of these characters. There is just so much here to unpack.I'm really hoping the 'To Be Continued' means the author is going to turn this into a full-length novel because there is just so much here that needs to be told. I would also love to know Wyatt and Murph more as well as read more into Asher's journey that's led to him so far into his self-loathing and more of Saint's past that led him back to Arizona. There were just too many pieces, too many feelings, too many hints for this to be a novella. I can't wait to see what the author does with this though, because my only complaint is that it was too short and I need so much more of all of them. I'm completely seated for the continuation and also hoping to see some of the other characters get their own happily ever after.Definitely hoping for an HEA for Asher and Saint, because they are just beautiful, broken and messed up, but still beautiful, and them healing together and each other would be so *chef's kiss*. And maybe some brother bonding once Asher gets into a bit of a better headspace and maybe some forgiveness between Asher and Wyatt?Waiting and excited!!!!Demon in the Sheets by Lily Mayne"That doesn't seem very fair. I'm the wounded party here. I'm the victim, and I wouldn't even win? That's bullshit." This was the line that got me full-on invested in this one. Honestly, I cracked up laughing at this, and then just pretty much continued to crack up through the rest of it. This entire story was just straight fun from beginning to end.I would have loved to have heard more behind Nicky's true intentions. Wondering if he wasn't throwing Andris a Hail Mary and maybe giving Brad the gay awakening he desperately needed.Overall, this was just fun. Obviously, I'm hoping for a HEA for Andris and Brad because they were so adorable together and so in to each other. This was a perfect little blurb and left enough for a continuation if the author so chose to do so!Always Been Me by Charlie NovakThis was like skipping all the angst and getting straight to the good part. The author was able to lay enough brickwork in the first couple chapters and reading through the lines to show the mutual pining angst that took place before the story starts. I could feel the buildup without having to read through the buildup. The characters were sweet, one a bit clueless and the other one a bit insecure but they figured it out and it was sweet. It was nice to just pick up at the realization they'd always been in love with each other and them just accepting that and going with it.I loved the already dating without realizing it vibe I got while they talked about how things looked forward for them moving forward and realized it looked an awful lot like how they already lived leading up to this point. "And I guess we just keep doing what we've already been doing, but with more romance and sex."Rookie Moves by Jodi OliverThis was such a happy pill. I smiled and laughed and giggled through this whole story. I love how fluid the couple was, from teammates, to bed buddies, to real buddies, to something deeper, and then to something forever. This was just such a light and easy and such a happy read. They didn't hold back, or resist, or try to fight it, they just eased in. There were so many moments when my heart just grew inside my chest reading about how consistently and naturally they fell. This is a new to me author who I will definitely be checking out more of their stories after this sweet, steamy story.Smoke and Holes by Cora RoseIn my original notes for Lily Mayne's Demon in the Sheets, I specifically wrote about how I wanted more of Thad's story. This was such a pleasant surprise. I thought Thad getting excited over candles and the Eiffel Tower was because he was horny for their phallus shape, but the truth of what happened with the candleholder totally threw me and I was dying.I definitely got the sense that Rowan had a thing for Thad before Thad said anything about the candlestick. Thad's open honesty was more than Rowan's self-control could handle and I was sat for that. I am wondering if Rowan is another of Andris' siblings or if he just happened to recognize the bundles Brad had as common demon gift. I am so wanting more deets on these demons brothers and their HEA's.Either way, I love how this all played out. Thad never stopped to question himself or really care what anything meant, just knew what he wanted and was completely unashamed to ask for it. And I'm wondering if Rowan's comment about Thad being able to see the smoke being odd is some sort of hint at fated mates or something. There are so many questions!!! I want more!!!Overall, great humor, steamy smut, and hoping to see more of these two in the future!!!All Shook Up by Sebastian SharpeThis one broke my heart. It's a cruel reality we live in that things like this still happen and real life doesn't always end with an HEA like the one Jack and Oliver got. Both of them suffered so hard for the bulk of this book. But I loved the build-up in the beginning. The love they found in each other and having a chance to express that before separating.I hated the separation, but I kept following along trying to guess and imagine how they'd get back to each other again, because I knew they would. Their initial reunion was harsh but understandable, their second one being sweeter with Oliver having a chance to speak out his heart. I think both reunions were important because it gave them each a turn to express the confusion and miscommunication throughout the years.I would have loved to have seen more of them together. After everything was solved between the couple I would have loved to have watched Oliver's father swallow a box of nails when he learned all his efforts to separate them didn't work. I would have loved to have just melted into their love for a little while at the end.But this was good. It was harsh and heartbreaking, but had so many sweet moments and I was drawn to how everything came together. The To-Do List by Lark TaylorI was looking forward to this. I love how this author always makes her characters strong and sassy and completely adored by their prospective partners.I love how firmly Archie held his ground, how strongly he stuck up for himself. Even though he did have nerves here and there, he still never backed down or let anyone roll him over. He's an amazing character that I hope to see more of.Zack was awesome, he was a big overgrown idiot to hide from his second family, but still he was awesome. He was possessive, but in a way that showed he was more worried about Archie being treated properly than anything, and once he had him, he wasn't about to let him go.Sweet, spicy, and since this author loves to interconnect her stories, I'm hoping to see more of them in the future. Or maybe even get a full-length novel for them. I'm so down for reading more about Archie's personality. I fell hard for him for such a brief story! The Sin Bin by Willow ThomasThis was awesome. I loved the misunderstanding in the beginning when Dean went from no, thank you to yes, please in less than two minutes! Short, sweet, and spicy. Their conversations made me giggle, both of them being awkward as heck and tripping over their words until they became spend porridge and dipped hob nobs in tea.And probably way overthinking the minors here, but please tell me Jamie's love story is wrapped up in the new player on Dean's team! So down for that! Thank you for this, it was so perfectly done to have the sweet, vulnerable, insecure moments as quiet backdrops to the main spicy event.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great way to find new favorite authors!

A very entertaining and fun mix of different short stories! I had a blast reading this! My favorite stories were written by Addison Beck, Loren Leigh, Lily Mayne and Jodie Oliver, but overall I liked all of them. So fun to find new aurhors that I really enjoyed as well. Some of the stories felt a little to short or rushed, but it was very entertaining and did not feel like a 750 page book at all! Also a huge plus that the sales of the book goes to a good cause.

5.0 out of 5 stars Some good stuff!

3 authors were standouts for me. Firstly, Sebastian Sharpe. Good lord, the feels I felt from a short story shouldn't be possible, but it was filled with sweetness, pining, and angst before we get to the HEA. Loved it.The other 2 decided to create a shared world and, honestly, I am dying for more from it!!! Lily Mayne starts us off with Brad and Andris, whom he summoned with the help of his chaotic coworker, whom I suspect is not so innocent in what was Andris' plight! It's funny, fun, and filled with everything you expect from Lily Mayne. BUT, it left me with so many questions! What happened with Brad's roomate Thad and Rowan, who was suspicious of Brad's squirrely behavior.WELL, we get the answer to that in Cora Rose's story. Thad really gets himself in a situation, which Rowan reluctantly, but also eagerly, helps him with. There was so much happening in this world, I need MOAR and hope they consider a co-write, because this was 🔥🔥🔥.

4.0 out of 5 stars One definite gem amongst the rest!

Like many others, I bought this anthology because of the inclusion of a couple authors that I already enjoy. The anthology content was typical of these things - mostly enjoyable, but also mostly forgettable. The one exception was the short story by Sebastian Sharpe. I highly recommend purchasing this anthology for this story alone which was an exceptional example of a short story - great character development, great plot, achingly powerful romance, and a sense of a complete story start to finish. The rating is for the anthology in general, but 5 stars for Sharpe's story! I'm definitely going to check out other work by this new-to-me author!

Entretenido

Es un buen libro, las historias son variadas y hay para todos los gustos, no hay nada que sea grotesco, y todas las historias tienen HEA.

The most fun collection!

J. · August 15, 2024

I loved having the chance to read this anthology and that it was for charity was the... 'cherry on top.' Sorry, I couldn't resist. Each author's contribution was fun, sweet, emotional, and spicy. From a guy who'll give up his lucrative app when he finds his someone special, to two roomies who each experience different first times, but with demons, to the football player who finds the new guy irresistible, to one night becoming all the nights, to realizing your brother's best friend was in love with you, too... This was a group of stories I can see myself reading again and again.

12 HEAs and a cliffhanger

l.c. · July 25, 2024

Surprisingly excellent editing and proofreading, which I wasn't expecting in a charity anthology. All the stories are based on what the blurb promises, some couples form with people who've known each other for varying periods of time but haven't explored until the time of the story, some are surprise meetings with unknown individuals who become the center of their lives, all are based on the hetnorm of us-two-for-life type of forever love. Some are part of an established series world, with cameos from characters relative to those series, but stand by themselves. Only one was a cliffhanger, relatively angsty. All well written, and although some were mostly just a rather good basis for a p0Rn, a few were actually a well-rounded tale.

spicy short MM stories

R. · July 17, 2024

I enjoyed all these short stories, particular highlights being Cora Rose and Lily Mayne’s connected stories. One of them is not complete which was slightly frustrating but overall I loved this anthology.

Great anthologies. Short stories. Love it.
