Downy
Procter & Gamble owns the Downy brand of detergent capsules, tablets, fabric deodorizers, fabric softeners, and liquid fabric softeners. It made its debut in 1960, and the Philadelphia region served as its initial test market. Initially, the manufacturer marketed the item as a liquid fabric softener. Downy introduced their first detergent booster in North America in 2000. Since that time, they've introduced a number of new Detergent Booster products internationally. A few years later, they introduced their line of "balls," which are tiny, rounded capsules that break down in the washing machine and release fabric softener. A liquid fabric softener called Downy Anti-Wrinkle claims to eliminate wrinkles from clothing without the use of an iron. It is applied to wet laundry while it is still in the washing machine or after the items have been removed from the washer but before going into the dryer. The crossing of fibers and the stretching of damp garments out of shape are the two main causes of wrinkles. When Downy Anti-Wrinkle is applied to damp clothing, the fibers are kept from crossing, and the shape is better retained while the clothing dries. As a result, fewer creases emerge and less ironing is needed for clothing. Additionally, Downy sells a range of scent-releasing goods that keep clothing smelling clean for weeks after washing. These goods include aroma beads and dryer sheets that can be put in the washer with the laundry. While the dryer sheets give off a fresh scent when used in the dryer, the beads disintegrate and release their fragrance during the wash cycle. The "Odor Removal Collection" by Downy, which consists of Scent Beads with Febreze technology and Fabric Refresher spray, was introduced in 2015. Scent Beads are added to laundry during the wash cycle to provide long-lasting freshness, while Fabric Refresher spray is applied to garments between launderings to get rid of any remaining aromas.
