About this item:
This is the quintessential Starbucks dark roast—expertly crafted to bring out sweetness and intensity. It showcases the precision and skill of our roasters, who created a coffee that's slightly darker than our Espresso Roast without the smoky edge of French Roast. A great cup of coffee, it has a depth of flavor that holds its own with cream and sugar.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delicious, quick and easy
When we switched from regular freshly-ground bean coffee to decaf, we tried Via Instant decaf — and never went back to grinding beans! The taste and invigoration is just as good, and the ease and convenience cannot be beat. The price is a bit steep—but our fabulous bulletproof morning coffee at home is still way less expensive than a specialty coffee at any coffee shop. So far, we are willing to pay for convenience. Luckily we can now buy Via Italian Roast on Bolo, even as decaf. Earlier, we had to buy it at Starbucks shops overseas.
5.0 out of 5 stars Tastes better than many fresh brewed coffees
This instant coffee is remarkably full bodied, with a rich, deep flavor and very little bitterness. Since I don't have room for a fancy coffee maker, I drink it daily. I like it better than Starbucks' brewed coffee. It dissolves quickly and the individual packets make it easy to travel with.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good strong coffee

5.0 out of 5 stars Only the BEST Instant coffee in the world
I know it seems a bit expensive, but you should treat yourself a this is literally the best instant coffee in the WORLD!!!! I'm so spoiled now, other instants don't even taste good after using this... But I deserve it. and it is cheaper than GOING To starbucks. Really delicious, rich and tastes JUST like a cup of brewed coffee. Can't say enough good about this coffee. Just be warned that if you do try it.. you won't be able to enjoy another brand of instant coffee ever again! Bwahahahaha (evil laugh). But you are worth it too!
4.0 out of 5 stars Comparing 5 Brands of Instant Coffee Packets
I like coffee that tastes like coffee beans, not like emaciated grocery store brands from the Fifties. I’ve always thought Starbucks fresh coffee tastes “burnt” so I stopped going there in favor of “The Human Bean” in Phoenix. And after reading about the owner of Starbucks, I did this subjective taste test to try and find an instant I could live with to “instantly” move away from giving my money to Starbucks Via.In my comparison of five brands, I used one teaspoon of instant and ¾ cup of hot water in each brand, kept it just black, and tasted it hot. Next, I added one teaspoon of heavy cream and 10 drops of Sweet Leaf brand vanilla-flavored extract and tasted it hot. Then, I waited until it cooled to room temp and tasted it again. Here are my personal findings with 5 being “worst”:5. Waka Decaf – Slightly sour and brackish, tastes “instant” and gets worse as it cools. An absolute “no.” (1 packet per 8-10 oz.)4. Jacobs Espresso – Watery, thin, and so “smooth” as to be tasteless, and they have the nerve to call this “espresso”? (No English instructions I could find—I guess they didn’t think it was worth the bother—and they’re probably right.)3. Mt. Hagen Espresso – Also too smooth and lacking in taste, but has a wee more grunt and flavour than Jacobs. (1 packet per cup—I assume they mean 8 oz.)2. Café Bustelo Espresso – Definitely better than the others but still “middle of the road” when it comes to true bean flavour. At least it tastes like coffee, even when cool.1. Via Decaf Italian – IF you mix as instructed (1 packet per 8 oz.), it's too strong and has a slightly burnt taste . However, you can make a perfect travel mug of coffee by adding 16-20 ounces of hot water instead and just one packet of this very robust, powerful instant that actually tastes brewed. You also get two times more coffee for the money, via Via, because the packet makes such strong coffee. My tastebuds have failed to escape the Starbucks czar with this test, so maybe I should give those Fifties store brands another go.
5.0 out of 5 stars Best decaf I’ve found.
I was actually one of the first consumers to test this coffee, even before it was available. I was doing a job for a customer one day that happened to be a Starbucks employee. We of course were chatting about coffee when I admitted to her that I had made the switch to decaf. I had to come back the next day to finish the job and when I arrive, she presented me with the small box of little pouches. My first reaction was instant coffee? Yuck. She laughed and said just try it. I couldn’t believe it when I had the 1st cup. It tastes nothing like your grandmother‘s instant coffee. I’ve been a loyal user of this for many years now. It is so convenient to carry as well. Now you don’t have to worry if your friends will serve decaf. Just pop a few of these in your pocket and then when it’s time for coffee, just ask for hot water. The pouch makes a nice stirring stick too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for travel
These Via packets are great to keep in your luggage for travel, so much better than hotel coffee packets. This isn't Grandma's instant coffee anymore, it has come a looong way!
Bulk buy instant Starbucks decaf
Super value for great taste!
Loved it, but it was a bit pricey since ...
Loved it, but it was a bit pricey since I bought it online. I hear decaf is good for you, too.
Lousy state of packaging upon delivery
product not as advertised
This is one envelope the size of your hand, containing 8 tiny tubes of coffee, not a 'box' with 8 packets. Description and price give the impression your order will contain 8 of these, but in fact it is just one.
This is a rip off for $52 and you can't even return. .
Overpriced
