Three partners—English teacher Jerry Baldwin, history teacher Zev Siegel, and author Gordon Bowker—founded it in Seattle, Washington, in 1971. Pike Place Market in Seattle saw the debut of the first Starbucks location. The book Moby-Dick served as inspiration for the company's name. Starbucks soon gained popularity as a destination for coffee drinkers, and it now has more than 22,000 locations in 68 nations. The business offers a selection of whole-bean coffee, iced coffee, cold brew, espresso, frappuccino, cups, and mugs, among other coffee and tea goods.
